How does the hardness system work?

Artisan uses different foam hardnesses under the fabric. This affects how much the mouse
“sinks” into the mousepad and how quickly it stops.

XSOFT (4mm)

The softest foam. The mouse sinks slightly into the surface, which dramatically
increases friction.

Games: CS2, Valorant (Sentinel/Controller)

SOFT (4mm)

The most versatile option. A balance between comfort, control and speed.
It resembles premium pads (Zowie G-SR-SE), but with better durability.

Games: CS2, Valorant (Duelist), Apex (long/mid range)

MID (3mm)

The firmest foam. The mouse doesn’t sink in, the glide is the most consistent
and faster than Soft/Xsoft. It’s still a control mousepad, but with extra speed.

Where Artisan came from

In 2008 the mousepad market belonged to Western brands, and the choice was limited. Artisan's founders started from a simple premise: if e-sports is competition, not play, then gear should be a tool that really works, not a gadget that looks good in a photo.

The result was the SMART PAD ARTISAN, the brand's first mousepad, made in Japan. It drew attention with its distinctively light glide and quickly ended up under the mice of top players.
